How do you do anal training?
This is for people who are contemplating anal sex and considered that some type of anal training might be a good idea. It is a fair question to ask where to start with your training or warm ups. Small anal/butt plugs? A finger? Lube and what sort of lube? Should you use a special lube? All very good questions.
Below is a list of heading you can jump to directly:
Anal Training and warm-up
First up let me differentiate between training and warm-up. You can be a total anal slut with years if training, capable of taking a large fantasy horse dildo balls deep, or bigger. Your muscles still need to warm-up before a play session. The warm-up for big or extreme anal is basically the same as the process of anal training but it just takes a few minutes, maybe half an hour, to prepare for serious anal. But no amount of warm-up will train your ass sufficiently to deal with an anal fisting session to come.
The difference between Training and Warm-up is dealt with in more detail in the article Staying in Anal Shape.
Being Clean and Lubricated
Making sure you anus is clean can be as simple as wiping the outside. Most people want to go further than that and make sure the anal canal and the rectum are clean, to some extent. How to and how much you should clean is covered in great detail in the article Eating and Enemas for Clean Anal Sex. But there is a significant side benefit of squirting a little water up your ass that constantly overlooked.
Most commentary on anal sex and lube start with the principle that the anus and rectum do not lubricate themselves. That is false.
Microanatomy
The microanatomy of the wall of the rectum is similar to the rest of the gastrointestinal tract;[8] namely, that it possesses a mucosa with a lining of a single layer of column-shaped cells with mucous-secreting goblet cells interspersed, … – Wikipidia
The truth is that the rectum does not secret copious quantities of mucus all the time. If it did, your ass would be constantly leaking. But it does secrete enough to let stools pass easily and painlessly through the rectum and out the anus unless you are constipated.
The walls of the rectum are always lined with mucus. However, unless you need to relieve yourself, it will be sticky or tacky. The mucus will become slippery if you wet the mucus by injecting a small amount of water into the anus. You eliminate any fear of things that go in are going to come out dirty as well as activating your anus’ and rectum’s natural lubrication. Of course, with repeated flushing of the anus and rectum, the mucus layer can be washed away. That is where injecting lube solves all problems.
Anal training starts with Lube
In order to start anal training you want to use something to lube the outside of the anus from the outset. You can have all the internal lubrication in the world but you still need to get past the anal verge. To begin with, you can use any number of basic household products. Olive oil, caster oil, butter, lard, etc. Regular petroleum jelly and baby or bath oils work. You want your fingers or anything else to slide smoothly over your anus and into the anal canal.
As you progress, you will probably want to invest in something better. Some anal lubes in particular have a nozzle designed to make it easy to squeeze some into your anus. Alternately, you can invest in a lube injector. While it is not entirely essential, lube makes the job of getting anything in your ass much easier. Soap definitely is not something you want to use. When soap comes into contact with your mucous membrane it stings. Imagine getting soap in your eyes and what that feeling is like when it is up your ass.

Anal training with fingers
Back to the specifics of Anal Training. Fingers are always a good place to start. Your own fingers are best. It is not just your muscles that need exercising and massage. While this is a very important aspect of anal training and warm ups, your inner anal sphincter (IAS) and the nervous system that controls it also need training. The nervous system that controls the contractions and release of the IAS is a big issue.
These nerves are not connected directly to your brain. The nerves are part of the Autonomic nervous system. Your brain does not Feel what is going on in your ass nor can it open your anus directly.
The autonomic nervous system (ANS), also known as the visceral nervous system and involuntary nervous system, … is a control system that acts largely unconsciously and regulates the heart rate, digestion, … and sexual arousal. This system is the primary mechanism in control of the fight-or-flight response and its role is mediated by two different components. – Wikipedia
So using your own finger(s) gives direct feedback to your conscious mind. Your fingers are also highly sensitive to touch and that reduces your focus on the sensations from your anus, the entrance of which is very sensitive. It allows you to poke around and stretch things without hurting yourself. This makes the idea of being penetrated far less ominous. It also starts to reprogram your anus and rectum, fundamentally your autonomic nervous system, to accepting being poked and stretched. While you have your finger(s) in your ass you want to feel around the wall of you rectum and hook you finger(s) over the top of your anus.
Anal training with butt plugs
As a training tool plugs are good in a couple of respects. They familiarize your rectum with having a foreign body in it without it being poo and helping your rectum to differentiate between a need to poo and just being stuffed. They also train your anus to accept the feeling of something foreign moving around in it and propping it open (to varying extents). But a plug you can wear for a long time usually has a longer, slender stem and that doesn’t really hold your anus open to any extent, unless you use a harness to hold in with a shorter and/or fatter stem. A slender stem will “tease” your anus relentlessly but does not help you anus get used to the feeling of really being fully held/stretched open.
Because the sensations of a full rectum will trigger the IAS, people often have trouble holding the things in just using their anus muscles. You quickly realize that the part of the sphincter you can consciously control is not as good at keeping you ass closed. This is also why anal sex becomes much easier once you get past the initial penetration of the anus. Once the head of a cock is inside the rectum the anus automatically relaxes.

Anal training with dildos and vibrators
Plugs do not help you prepared for the thrusting. The in and the out of it. Nor are most any good for training the upper part of the rectum to be comfortable being interfered with. The majority of plugs are between 3 and 5 inches insertable and the average rectum is 6 inches. Even at their longest they are still not intended for thrusting in and out. You want to start with a very smooth dildo or vibrator. Vibrators have the added advantage of helping to loosen tight muscles. After a while you can progress to something that is textured. Certainly the more you wear a plug or play with your ass (without bruising and tearing something) the faster you will train your ass to cope with being fucked.
To really train your ass you always want a toy on hand that is just a little bit bigger than you are comfortable with. Play with that for a while (a few minutes) and then give it a rest. Push your boundaries a little every time, but don’t hurt yourself. Then go back to “wearing” something a little more comfortable. You will know when you can move up in size because you will start feeling comfortable with the larger toy(s).

Hi, I am interested to know if I can use water and soap Anal cleaning? I heard that soap can make skin dry up and as a result is not recommended.
What are the alternatives? Can’t us lubes in shower….
Thank you
